SAMBA, June 28: Samba Police has launched a man hunt to arrest the three robbers who escaped from lock up in Ghagwal Police Station during Sunday night by conducting raids at various hideouts.
The police have launched manhunt to arrest the robbers who escaped from police lock up yesterday and it has conducted raids at various places, SSP Samba Joginder Singh told Excelsior.
He said police is on the job and police teams have been fanned in different areas to arrest them.
It may be recalled three persons nabbed in connection with a robbery case escaped from police lockup, prompting the authorities to suspend two police personnel and shift an officer in Samba district yesterday.
The accused identified as Zakir Hussain, Lal Hussain and Bagh Hussain escaped on Sunday night from Gagwal Police Station in the district, a police officer said here today.
He said they were arrested on June 13 in connection with a dacoity and were lodged at the police station.
“We have shifted the Station House Officer of the police station and suspended two personnel in this connection,” SSP Samba, Joginder Singh said.
A case has been registered and a manhunt launched to nab the absconding accused, he said.
