JAMMU, June 17: President, Hotel & Restaurant Association, Katra, and senior Congress leader, Rakesh Wazir, called on Project Director, National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), MT Attrde and apprised him that local people at Toll Post Ban are still facing lot of problems due to the denial of passes to them on one pretext or the other.
Wazir said besides this, the people who are having passes for their vehicles from the last one and half year and had renewed those up to May 30 are now denied further renewal thereof on one pretext or the other in clear violation of the guidelines/rules and even directions from NHAI.
The people at Toll Post Ban are also refusing making passes after 7th of each month on the plea that passes are issued and renewed up to 7th only, for which the public is still facing a lot of problems.
Attrde listened to Wazir very patiently and assured him setting all the matters right over there and ordered that the passes be got any day throughout the month and said that written directions had also been passed on to the contractor as well in this regard.
The Project Director also said that all the vehicles having passes issued earlier since months will be renewed further as well and violation of rules/guidelines will not be tolerated.
