Upgradation of Udhampur- Ghordi road not included under CRF

Srinagar, June 17: Government today said out of 104 projects that were recommended to Government of India, the Ministry accorded sanction to only 25 projects and they don’t include the upgradation of Udhampur – Ghordi road from single lane to double lane.
In a written reply to a question of Dina Nath Bhagat in Lower House, Minister incharge said during 2015-16, 104 projects including one of Chenani Constituency that is up gradation of Udhampur -Ghordi road from single lane to double lane at an estimated cost of Rs. 159.03 crore were recommended to Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, for consideration of approval/ funding under Central Road Fund (CRF).
The ministry sanctioned only 25 projects which don’t include the project of Chenani Constituency. Although the riding surface of Chenani Pattan Garh road is not so good, yet it is trafficable, said the Minister, adding that the formulation of DPR for improvement/ up gradation of this road is presently under process.
