JAMMU, June 15: After making their dominance in class X and XII results, the girls again steal the show by bagging 43 positions, while the boys managed to secure only 9 positions in the BA, BSc, BCom, BBA and BCA Part-III examinations, the results of which were declared by the University of Jammu (JU), here today.
Government Degree College (GDC), Hiranagar secured first position in the Science stream, whereas the girl students made clean sweep in the Commerce stream by clinching all the top 10 positions with Government College for Women (GCW) Parade securing six positions.
The students of GDC Kathua and Government College for Women (GCW), Gandhi Nagar secured three positions each in BSc stream, whereas in BCA, the students of Government Gandhi Memorial (GGM) Science College topped with four positions and in BBA stream, SPMR College of Commerce secured five positions. The private colleges also made their presence felt in BCA and BBA streams.
A total of 17,927 students took the examinations and the total pass percentage was 69 per cent.
In Science stream, Poonam Choudhary of GDC Hiranagar secured first position by securing 84.54 per cent marks, while Charul and Ankita Sharma, both students of GCW Parade bagged second and third positions by securing 84.42 and 84.36 per cent marks respectively.
Tanu Devi and Mohinder Singh, both students of GDC Kathua clinched fourth and fifth positions by securing 84 and 83.87 per cent marks, while Damini Sharma of GCW Gandhi Nagar bagged sixth position by securing 83.69 per cent marks. The seventh position was claimed by Menakshi Dhar of GCW Gandhi Nagar by securing 83.45 per cent marks.
The eighth position was shared by Mamta Rani of GDC Samba and Harshdeep Kour of GCW Gandhi Nagar by securing 83.09 per cent marks, while the ninth and tenth positions were clinched by Pushpa Devi of Government Degree College for Women, Udhampur and Manvi Rajput of GDC Kathua by securing 82.96 and 82.72 per cent marks respectively.
In Commerce stream, Shifali Sharma of GCW Parade bagged first position by securing 74.16 per cent marks, whereas the second and third positions were claimed by Alisha Dogra of GCW parade and Jatinder Kour of GCW Gandhi Nagar by securing 73.66 and 72.88 per cent marks respectively.
The fourth and fifth positions were clinched by Alisha Mahajan and Chandeep Kour, both students of GCW Parade by securing 72.27 and 72.22 per cent marks, while Anukriti Sharma, Anukriti Sharma and Palak Bindra, trio students of GCW Gandhi Nagar bagged sixth, seventh and eighth positions by securing 71, 70.77 and 70.11 per cent marks respectively.
Sonali Gupta and Ritika Virdi of GCW Parade claimed ninth and tenth positions by securing 69.72 and 69.05 per cent marks.
In Arts stream, Aabid Latif of Government MAM College bagged first position by clinching 77.03 per cent marks, whereas the second and third positions were claimed by Lokesh Shan of GDC Boys Udhampur and Geetanjali of GCW Gandhi Nagar by securing 75.87 and 75.81 per cent marks.
Akshita Mahajan of GCW Parade secured 75.15 per cent marks and claimed fourth position, while the fifth position was bagged by Ananya Sharma of Government Women Degree College, Kathua by securing 74.90 per cent marks. Sofia Aslam of GDC Poonch secured sixth position by securing 74 per cent marks and Maheshwari Sharma of GCW Parade bagged seventh position by securing 73.57 per cent marks.
The eighth position was shared by Vani Choudhary of GCW Gandhi Nagar and Mohammad Ghafoor of GDC Thannamandi, Rajouri by securing 72.96 per cent marks, while the ninth and tenth positions were claimed by Janu Verma and Himmat Sharma, both students of GCW Gandhi Nagar by securing 72.90 and 72.42 per cent marks respectively.
Parveen Kumar of GGM Science College bagged first position in BCA stream by securing 77.87 per cent marks, while the second and third positions were claimed by Ria Kohli of GCW Parade and Payal Sawhney of GGM Science College by securing 77.03 and 75.87 per cent marks respectively.
Diksha Mahajan of GGM Science College and Gurpreet Kour Soni bagged fourth and fifth positions by securing 75.51 and 74.90 per cent marks respectively, while the sixth and seventh positions were clinched by Vikas Pandita of GGM Science College and Isha Chandiramani of Government MAM College by securing 74.84 and 74.24 per cent marks respectively.
The eighth, ninth and tenth positions were bagged by Anu Bala of GDC Kathua, Prita Gupta of GCW Parade and Divya Sharma of Tawi institute of Management and Science by securing 74.12, 73.39 and 73.33 per cent marks.
In BBA stream, Swarnima Zutshi of Government MAM College bagged first position by securing 76.66 per cent marks, whereas the second, third, fourth and fifth positions were secured by Rishabh Gupta, Mehakpreet Manocha, Pranav Pargal and Abhishek Jagotra, all students of SPMR College of Commerce by securing 75.76, 75.38, 75.14 and 75 per cent marks respectively.
The sixth position was clinched by Vineeta Sumbli of Government MAM College by securing 74.42 per cent marks, while the seventh and eighth positions were bagged by Puneet Kour and Gunjan Deep Kaur, both students of RM College by securing 73.66 and 73.61 per cent marks.
Shivani Puri of SPMR College of Commerce and Shivangi Sharma of GDC Kathua bagged ninth and tenth positions by securing 73.57 and 73.52 per cent marks respectively.
