KATRA, June 13: The three-day historic Aghar Jitto Mela in remembrance of Baba Jitto Mal would commence at Aghar Jitto from June 19.
This was informed by the Deputy Commissioner Reasi Ravinder Kumar during a meeting of officers and local committee members convened here today at Aghar Jitto to take stock of arrangements for the annual Mela.
This ancient religious place is situated in the lap of Trikuta Hills on Katra -Reasi road where lakhs of devotees of Baba Jitto from various parts of the country visit to pay their obeisance.
The DC directed the officers of concerned departments to make all necessary arrangements well before the commencement of the mela. He specially stressed on making elaborate arrangements for the security of the visiting devotees, drinking water, and power supply, adequate provision of essential commodities, sanitation, fire services and transport arrangements.
Earlier, the DC also inaugurated a Community Sanitary Complex, constructed under the Swachh Bharat Mission (G), in Aghar Jitto. ACD Reasi Suram Chand Sharma was also present.
