JAMMU, June 5: Various Sikh organizations and some members of DGPC Jammu have decided to observe Shahidi Divas of 5th Guru Shri Arjun Dev ji on June 8.
In a meeting of some Sikh bodies held here today under the chairmanship of Sudarshan Singh Wazir, president Sikh United Front J&K and former president J&K State Gurdwara Prabandak Board and five elected members DGPC Jammu besides leaders of various Sikh organizations including Shiromani Akali Dal, Bhai Kanhaiya Nishkam Sewa Society, AISSF, Sikh Noujawan Sabha, Sikh Welfare Society and J&K Motor Transport Company Association Jammu, the participants unanimously decided to celebrate the Shaheedi Purab of 5th Guru Shri Arjun Dev ji on June 8, 2016 according to the Nanak Shahi Calender approved by SGPC Amritsar, and also under the directions of Mahant Manjit Singh ji of Dera Nagali Sahib, Poonch.
In this connection the religious function will be held at Gurudwara Digiana Ashram Jammu from 8 am to 2 pm. Many Ragies and religious preachers within and outside state will participate and threw light on the importance of the day.
