Degree College at Chenani

Sir,
I would like to request  Lal Singh Minister and Chairman Distt Development Board Udhampur to consider long pending demand of Tehsil Chenani  to open Degree College as the student community especially 10+2 passout girls suffer badly and about 90 percent of the student fail to get admission in any college. It is pertinent to mention here that Chenani has remained one of the oldest Princely states in Jammu region ruled by Independent King. So Chenani could not make progress in education sector from 1947 onwards. Even at the time of opening of Higher Secondary Schools Chenani remained on backfoot. Thereafter. lot of Degree Colleges were opened, Chenani was badly discriminated. As a general principle at least old Tehsils should get one Degree College. The students of six Winter Zone Higher Secondary Schools are suffering as there is no Winter Zone Degree College. It should also be noted that Chenani should not be considered merely on distance from Udhampur, but the Tehsil extends further in most difficult hilly area terrain villages, where students cannot easily reach from one habitation to another. So Chenani being centrally located is a fit case for Degree College. So, the Minister should consider the long pending demand of Degree College as he is competent and capable to take decisions on the spot.
Yours etc….
