JAMMU, Mar 29: A 36-years-old woman allegedly committed suicide by consuming some substance in Chatha area of city outskirts.
“The woman identified as Anita Devi (36) wife of Chamel Singh, a resident of Chatha, was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu, late last night after she consumed some poisonous substance at her residence”, said a police spokesman.
He further said that the woman expired early this morning during treatment. “After conducting postmortem, her body was handed over to her legal heirs”, the spokesman said, adding a case in this connection was registered at police station Satwari and inquest proceedings initiated under 174 CrPC.
