Vigilance produces challan against public servant

JAMMU, Mar 15: Vigilance Organization Kashmir today presented a chargesheet (Challan) against then Junior Assistant in PHE Division Handwara, who is accused of accumulating huge assets, disproportionate to his known source of income.
Challan in case FIR No. 56/2007 u/s 5(1) r/w 5(2) of J&K Prevention of Corruption Act, was produced against the Public Servant Mohammad Maqbool Bhat, in Anti-Corruption court, Baramulla,  after obtaining proper sanction for launching prosecution, from the competent authority.
A verification by the Vigilance Organization Kashmir into the disproportionate assets revealed that Mohammad Maqbool Bhat has accumulated huge assets, movable and immovable, through corrupt means which are disproportionate to his known source of income.
The investigation of the case was concluded as proved against the accused for launching prosecution.
