Hindi Kashmiri Sangam deputation meets Governor

SRINAGAR, Sept 11 : Prof Chaman Lal Sapru, President and Dr Beena Budki, Secretary, Hindi Kashmiri Sangam, called on N N Vohra Governor, at Raj Bhavan here this evening and briefed him about the activities of the organization.
Prof Sapru and Dr Budki informed the Governor about the ongoing 8-day Hindi Writers Camp jointly organized by the Central Hindi Directorate, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of Higher Education and the Hindi Kashmiri Sangam at Srinagar, with a view to train budding writers from different States of the country in the art of translating the literature of various languages into Hindi and to promote the growth of languages.
Prof. Sapru presented to the Governor a copy of his latest publication “Meera Ki Prem Upasana”, Hindi translation of “Story of Meera’s Love”, written by Swami Budhanand of Ramakrishna Mission and Dr. Budki presented to the Governor a copy of her book “Awadhi Aur Kashmiri Lok Geeton Mein Lok Tatva”, in which she has made a comparative study of Kashmiri and Awadhi culture and folk literature. Both the authors also presented to the Governor a copy of the fresh issue of “Kashmir Sandesh”, a quarterly magazine brought out by the Hindi Kashmiri Sangam.
