3 vehicles with 9 bovines seized, 2 drivers held

REASI, Feb 7:  Mahore police  seized three Tata Mobile vehicles and rescued nine bovine animals which were being smuggled to Kashmir via Gool and Ramban by the smugglers.
Giving details, a police spokesman said that Shajru police party led by concerned incharge Police Post, under the supervision of SHO Mahore,  Insp Salim Altaf Raina intercepted two Tata Mobile vehicles bearing registration Nos.  JK-20/ 8582  and  JK02BK/2283   during last night at Budhan. It was found that total six  bovine animals were loaded in the vehicles.
During questioning the drivers of the vehicles failed to produce any valid permission from the District Magistrate for the transportation of  bovine animals to Kashmir Valley. Upon this, the police seized both the vehicles along with cattle and arrested both the alleged smugglers. They were identified as  Mohd Arshed, son of Abdul Rashid and Shabir Ahmed, son of Mohd Shafi,  resident  of  Jamaslan in Mahore. A case was registered   against them.
During yet  another naka laid  at Kunderdan by Chassana police  during early  hours today,  three bovine animals which were being smuggled to Kashmir via Mahore and Gool from Budhal area of Rajouri were rescued. The driver of the vehicle managed to escape taking advantage of darkness after seeing police naka  party. The police seized Tata Mobile vehicle No JK-11A/0601  and rescued three animals. A case FIR No. 08/ 2016 was  registered in this connection at  Chassana Police Station. The police has started manhunt for the absconding accused.
