Srinagar, Feb 2: With the objective of assisting needy disabled persons in overcoming their physical challenges, the army distributed scooters among them as part of its humanitarian initiative.
A defence spokesman said six Activa Scooties modified as three wheelers were distributed by army in a simple function organised at Transit Camp which was attended by the beneficiaries, their families and officials from army and civil administration.
“The smile on the faces of these courageous people and the cheer it brings to their families makes our effort every bit worthwhile,” the spokesman said. He said army has been regularly augmenting the Government’s efforts in providing durable, sophisticated and scientifically manufactured modern aids and appliances to those facing unfortunate physical challenges.
