JAMMU, Feb 1: Gurdeep Singh has been elected as president while Ajit Raj as general secretary of Airport Taxi Drivers Association.
The general election of  the Association  was held here today under the supervision of Bansi Lal Sodhi and S Nirmal Singh in which Gurdeep Singh, who secured 138 votes out of 153,  was declared elected as president.  He defeated  Sarwan Singh,  who bagged only 15 votes.  Parvinder Singh secured 131 votes and was declared elected as vice president of the body.  He defeated his rival,  Harcharan Singh who could manage only 21 votes.
Ajit Raj secured 133 votes and was declared elected as general secretary while Surinder Kumar Raina was elected unopposed as cashier of the Association.  Ramesh Chander,  the opponent of  Ajit Raj secured only 19 votes. The newly elected president  extended gratitude to all the members for the support.
