DODA, Dec 30: MLA Doda Shakti Raj Parihar today laid foundation stone of the National Highway to Shaja link road in the remote Ghat Block of District Doda.
While addressing the gathering, he said that connectivity to rural areas and better road infrastructure is imperative for the economic upliftment of every section of society
The 5km road sanctioned under State sector will be constructed by PWD (R&B) Department with an outlay of Rs 7.36 crore and will provide the road connectivity to around 3000 souls living in the area.
MLA Bhaderwah Daleep Singh Parihar, XEn PWD Division Doda and other officers of line departments were present on the occasion
Later, the MLAs held a series of interactive sessions with the people in the area in which they were apprised of various demands major among which were additional power transformer to the area which are facing problem of excessive electric load, deteriorated road conditions, shortage of potable drinking water especially during droughts, staff and infrastructure augmentation in Government institutions.
XEn PDD Doda will be directed to strengthen the power distribution system by supplying the additional transformer to the area and new water supply schemes have been sanctioned for the area and work on their installation will start soon, said Parihar while responding to the demands of the people.
He also directed the Executive Engineer PWD to start the road restoration works on the roads suffered badly by weather vagaries on immediate basis.
