DSJ celebrates Dogri Manta Din

JAMMU, Dec 26: Presentation of a short play  based on a story by one of the most celebrated Dogri writers Prof Madan Mohan Sharma, screening of ‘Taranna’ of Dogri Sanstha and a poetic symposium were  the highlights of the function that marked celebrations of  Dogri Manta Din (Dogri Recognition Day), by Dogri Sanstha Jammu at Sanstha Bhawan  here today.
The play `Diary Kuse Lok Nath Di’ was presented by the artists of Natrang namely Pawan Verma and Dimple Sharma.
The ‘Taranna’  of Dogri Sanstha has been written and composed by renowned poet and composer Brij Mohan and produced by Sudesh K Verma of Verma Video Vision .The ‘ Taranna’ depicts the history of Sanstha and the contribution of three generations of writers to the dedicated service of their mother tongue, culture and heritage.
Prominent Dogri poets participated in the mushaira which was held with festivity. The poets who read their poems, included Gianeshwar, Susheel Begaana, Sunil Sharma, Brij Mohan, Vijaya Thakur, Girdhari Lal Rahi, Raj Kumar, Tara Danpuri, Narinder Bhasin, Promila Manhas, Deepak Aarsi, Pyasa Anjum, Lalit Magotra and others.
The programme was presided over by H C  Jhalmeria, who recalled  the struggle  of Dogri writers, artist, lovers of Dogri and general masses to get their language constitutionally recognized. The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Dr Chanchal Bhasin. Those who were present on this occasion,  included Shiv Dutt, Sudesh Verma, Pawan Verma, Hardeep Singh Deep and  Subhash Baru.
