JAMMU, Dec 23: Former Mr India and motivational speaker Vickrant Mahajan from Jammu has become the first person to drive to all 29 states and 7 union territories of India in one continuous trip. His historic journey was part of a motivational campaign called “Superpositivity India” wherein he visited 100 schools across India and motivated one lakh students from the ages of 3 to 18.
Vickrant had flagged off from Jammu on September 19 and returned on December 21 after driving 20,000 kilometres across 650 towns of India. The most unique part of his road trip was that he drove to all four corners (Turtuk in J&K, Kibithu in Arunachal Pradesh, Guhar Moti in Gujarat, and Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu) and the centre (Nagpur in Maharshtra) of India. He also became the first Indian to hold motivational talks in all 36 administrative regions of India.
Talking to media persons here, Mahajan said “Driving in the northeast was an exhilarating yet an arduous experience. There were stretches where roads were virtually non-existent, and it took me 10 hours to drive 100 kilometres”. Recounting one of the many memorable incidents, he added “I was driving to Chennai from Pondicherry on the December 1, when the highway was suddenly shutdown due to floods. It was the heaviest downpour I had ever seen, and we drove three hours through knee high water to the nearest town Kanchipuram and to safety”.
He was accompanied on this trip by his mother Veena and father SK Gupta.
Remarkably, he did this epic trip in a small car (Hyundai i10 Grand) rather than a jeep or an SUV. This revolutionary campaign was the first public initiative funded and organized by Vickrant’s NGO, Superpositivity Movement.
He aims to organize many more motivational programmes in future to create a mass wave of positive energy in India and internationally.
