Srinagar Dec 17: Two drug peddlers were arrested in Kashmir today and huge consignment of drugs and bhang was recovered from them.
Police said that on a tip off, Bandipora police laid a naka at Wullar vantage point at around 05.00 am today and intercepted a car bearing registration number JK15-2477. “192 bottles of codeine phosphate and 171 strips of spasmoproxyvon were recovered from the vehicle”, police added.
Police arrested notorious drug peddler Mohammad Yousuf Wani son of Ghulam Rasool Wani resident of Pathkote Bandipora who was driving the vehicle was arrested.
A case FIR No 28/2015 under section 8/21 NDPS was registered against him in Police Station Aragam and investigation was taken up.
Meanwhile, Awantipora police intercepted a pedestrian who was identified as Shakeel Ahmad Dar son of Ghulam Nabi Dar resident of Panzgam.
On his search, raw material of bhang, weighing about two kilograms was recovered from his possession.
A case FIR number 137/15 under section 8/20 NDPS was registered against him in Police Post Reshipora and investigation was taken up.
