JAMMU, Dec 10: The State Vigilance Commission has directed Chief Education Officer Ramban, to appear personally before the Commission in the case of providing of low quality Mid-day meal to students of a Government school.
The Commission took serious note of a complaint regarding distribution of substandard/low quality meals to the students of Class 1st to 8th Standard in Government Girls High School Kumate, Ramban, by Incharge Headmaster of the School. Even though, the said Headmaster had been warned many a times, he allegedly continued with his dishonest act of providing poor quality food to the students for his wrongful gains.
The Commission called for a report from Chief Education Officer, Ramban, in light of the allegations levelled. The Chief Education Officer, instead of getting enquiry conducted by the Committee already constituted for the purpose, informed the Commission that the matter has been resolved amicably, which depicts the callous and lackadaisical approach adopted by the said officer in order to shield his juniors at the stake of health of the students.
The State Vigilance Commission taking serious view of the prima-facie malafide procedure adopted by the Chief Education Officer, Ramban, has summoned him in person on December 31, 2015, in order to elucidate his position to proceed further in the matter.
