SRINAGAR, Dec 9: Various social and political organizations have expressed serious concern over the fleecing of the students by the coaching agencies in Valley and urged the Government to come out with a clear cut policy for them.
In a statement issued here, today advocate G M Tramboo a social activist and patron PRP said that one coaching agency is selling an admission form of two pages for Rs 300 which is totally an injustice with the student community aspiring to seek admission for coaching in 11th or 12th class or for competitive examinations.
This is a deliberate attempt on the part of these coaching institutes to mint money and fleece the parents of the children. The same concern was also expressed by Basher Ahmed Dar a PDP activist from Sumbal Sonawari area.
He, while expressing concern over the practice started by some of the coaching institutions in Valley demanded that the Government should issue guidelines for them as demanding Rs 300 as fee for filling up of admission forms in these institutions is nothing except an exploitation of the students intending to seek admission in these institutions.
He demanded that for the purpose of filling up of forms a nominal fee of Rs 50 or Rs 100 should be kept.
