JAMMU, Dec 8: A drawing-cum-painting competition was organised at Jammu Public Higher Secondary School, Sainik Colony here today.
The theme of the contest was ‘Our Soldiers, Our Pride’ and it was sponsored by State Sainik Welfare Board, Jammu. Director of the Sainik Board, Brig Harcharan Singh was chief guest while Col Suman Dutta, Director Army Recruitment Office Jammu Division Circle was special invitee to the programme. Brig Singh referred to several welfare schemes launched by Government for the serving and ex-servicemen and their families on the occasion.
The Director offered Rs 6000 to the school for the contest but the School Principle, Santosh Sharma donated the same for the Armed Forces for the National Flag Day as contribution. The winning students were given away prizes by the chief guest and the Principal.
