Srinagar, Nov 28: Kashmir Economic Alliance (KEA) today opposed the shifting of General Bus Stand Batamaloo to Parimpora and threatened agitation if Government goes ahead with its plan,
KEA president, Showkat Chowdhary said here that the shifting of Batamaloo bus stand would not only affect common people and transporters but also business community.
“Being centrally located, Batamaloo Bus stand is convenient for all sections of the society including employees and common people who come from far flung villages to city. Besides, hundreds of traders and shopkeepers earn their livelihood due to the presence of this stand,” he said.
Chowdhary warned Government that if it implements its order of shifting the bus stand to Parimpora, which is nearly 4 kilometers away from Batamaloo, the KEA will start agitation in Valley. “The traders and transports will hit streets if the order is implemented,” he said.
