Sir,
The announcement of the historic economic package by Prime Minister of India was hailed by and large in J&K especially in the Valley because the relief and rehabilitation of Rs 6,013 crore is meant for the relief holders of the Valley. The audience present in the stadium were extra-ordinarily happy and people gave went to their feelings.
When Mufti Mohd Sayeed, the Chief Minister in his speech talked about the Kashmiri Pandits return to the Valley, the audience lowered down their heads in silence. One fails to understand why this attitude towards KPs the aborigines of Kashmir. KPs are part and parcel of Kashmir. Sooner or later they shall return to their birth place. There are no two opinions about the return of KPs to Kashmir.
Some elements are provoking people of the Valley on one pretex or the other against Pandits. This trend will definitely harm the larger interests of the people of the Valley. For the last more than two decades, the valley is witnessing radicalisation of society.
The political leaders instead of buildings a strong public opinion against such forces have maintained state silence, which is very much disturbing.
Yours etc….
