DODA, Nov 16: The residents of Khellani today held protest against the worst condition of the link road connecting their area.
The residents alleged that the 5 kilometer long link road connecting Khellani is in worst condition since long and no one from the Government is paying heed towards it.
As the residents came to know about the visit of Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh to Doda, they came on road and blocked it. They raised slogans in favour of their demand of repairing the link road connecting Khellani.
“We had appealed to the concerned authorities to repair this link road, which is in dilapidated condition since long, but no step has been taken till today, which forced us to take this harsh step”, they added.
They stated that the condition of link road is pathetic and it makes traveling difficult and even leads to accidents various times. The bad condition of road had become a nuisance, especially during the rains, they added.
The irate residents stopped the cavalcade of Deputy Chief Minister and apprised him about the worst condition of the link road connecting their village.
Dy CM listened to the problems being faced by the people due to the pathetic condition of the road patiently and assured that the road will be repaired at the earliest.
On the assurance, the protestors dispersed and Dy CM left for his function, which was to be held at Doda.
