Man injured as revolver goes off accidentally

JAMMU, Nov 2: A man was seriously injured this evening when the revolver he was carrying with him in his pocket went off accidentally.
According to a police spokesperson, the man identified as Manohar Singh (55) son of Kirpal Singh, a resident of Digiana Camp, was going for a evening walk holding his pet dog, when his licensed revolver, he was carrying with him in back pocket of the pant went off accidentally, as the dog tried to release itself from his hold.
In the accident, the man suffered bullet injuries in his both legs. On getting information, a police team headed by SHO Gangyal, Inspector Ajay Jamwal, reached the spot and shifted the injured man to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, from where later the family members got him discharged on request and took to a hospital in Amritsar for advanced treatment.
According to SHO Gangyal, they have seized both revolver and the license and registered a case under relevant Sections against the injured man while further investigations are underway.
