KISHTWAR, Oct 24: A delegation of civil society Kishtwar led by Shamsher Singh Bhandari its member and senior Congress leader today called on District Development Commissioner Kishtwar Ghulam Nabi Balwan and discussed various issues confronting the people of the district with him in general and problems of unemployed youth faced by them due to closure of work on Rattle Project with him.
The delegation demanded that the work on Rattle Project be started immediately so that the unemployed youth of the area can get job. Besides, it demanded that the work on other projects in Chenab Valley area like Pakal-Dul and other small projects be also taken up in hand immediately.
It also turned the attention of the DC towards the Kishtwar Irrigation canal on which the work has been abandoned years back and demanded that the same be re-started as was already promised by the present government.
Bhandari said with the construction of the canal the water scarcity problem in Kishtwar will be over. The DC assured the delegation that he will take up the issue with concerned in the Government.
