KATRA, Sept 28: Weeklong celebrations of Software Freedom Day concluded at SMVDU, here yesterday with the distribution of prizes and certificates among the winners of various competitions.
Dr Ajay Kaul, Director School of Computer Science & Engineering and Anuj Mahajan, Assistant Professor School of Computer Science & Engineering, distributed the prizes.
The events included in the SFD celebrations were: FOSS (Free and Open Source Software) by Atul Mishra, Linux workshop by Anmol Sharma and Afshan Massarat, Github workshop by Parbhat Puri and Abhishek Kumar, Android workshop by Sidra Effendi and Anubha Agrawal, Network Security Workshop by Ankit Shrivastav and Abhishek Bundela, Web Technologies by Tirth Bal, Naval Kumawat and Mohit Kumar Bajoria, Python workshop by Abhyuday Pratap Singh, Abhishek Choudhary and Lavee Singh.
Quiz competition, Web Maker, Gitpy, Presentation Competition were organised by CSE students. The event were organized under the guidance of Anuj Mahajan, Assistant Professor (CSE Deptt.).
Being an alma mater of numerous Open Source Contributors and Supporters, SMVDU was part of SFD 2015 celebrations which took place at 124 different venues worldwide. SMVDU has been a part of global SFD celebrations since 2006.
