JAMMU, Sept 28: Two more people were today found positive for Dengue virus taking the total figure in Jammu region to 19.
According to BS Pathania, Director Health Jammu, a 40-year lady and a 15-year old boy belonging to Jammu district were found to be affected with Dengue after their blood samples were tested today in Micro-Biology lab of Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu.
He said with these two fresh cases of Dengue, the total number of patients affected with this vector-borne disease has reached 19. He further disclosed that till today blood samples of 203 persons having Dengue like symptoms (167 in GMCH and others in various district hospitals) were tested for Dengue virus out of which 19 were found to be positive for Dengue virus.
Dr Pathania further said that out of these 19 Dengue patients none was serious. However, many of these patients returned their home after successful treatment at various hospitals in Jammu while some are still under treatment and recovering fast.
