Janamashtami celebrated with religious fervour, gaiety

JAMMU, Sept 5: The Krishan Janamashtami was celebrated with religious fervour and gaiety in entire Jammu region today. All the temples were fully decorated by the devotees in the capital city and other parts of the region on the occasion.
Large number of devotees thronged the temples of the region. There was beeline of devotees in the Radha Krishan temples for the entire day but the main rush was during night hours up to the birth of Lord Krishna.
Earlier during the day Prabhat Pharis, Shoba yatras and bhajan Kirtan was held in various Radha Krishan temples. The Shoba Yatras were taken out in Janipur, Gandhi Nagar, Muthi, Trikuta Nagar and other parts of the region.
A grand function was held in Raghunath Temple in the City on the occasion of Janamashtami in which a large number of devotees participated. The function culminated at mid night -the birth of Lord. The devotees were later served prashad.
At Janipur the Shoba Yatra was organized by Shoba Yatra Committee Shri Krishna Mandir, Basant Nagar, Janipur under the supervision of Mahant and Sanchalak Dutt Raj. A large number of people drawn from different parts of Jammu joined the Shoba Yatra. Pooja Archana was also performed at Shri Krishan temple where from Sawari of Lord Krishana and Radha was taken out in a specially decorated chariot.
An attractive and impressive Shoba Yatra carrying the holy idols of Lord Krishna and Radha in a decorated rath was taken out on the occasion of Janamashtami today by Shri Laxmi Narayan Mandir Management Trust, Gandhi Nagar. After performing pooja -archana in a traditional way by president of the Trust Gulchain Singh Charak along with other trustees, the Shoba Yatra started from the Mandir. The prominent citizens were also present on the occasion.
Speaker State Assembly, Kavinder Gupta was the chief guest on the occasion. The rath yatra passed through various markets and devotees enroute were singing Bhajan Kirtan. Later Bhajan Sandya was also organized in the temple form 7 pm to 10 pm.
A grand function on the occasion of Janamashtami was held in Radha Krishan Temple Dharmal in which a large number of devotees participated.
A grand function was held on the occasion of Janamashtami in Shiv Mandir Sector No 5 and 7 Trikuta Nagar. A large number of devotees from different sectors participated in the programme. The programme started with Sai Bhajan at 6 pm, followed by cultural programme at 8 pm and Krishan Arti and Makhan Prasad at 12 night.
In connection with Janamashtami a grand religious function was held at Geeta Satsang Ashram Muthi. The function started with prabhat pheri. The Prabhat Pheri started from Ashram and passed via Janipur to Nagrota and Jagti. Later it went Barnai, Bohri, Anand Nagar, Amar Colony, Muthi and culminated at Ashram.
On the occasion Pushparchana was also performed in the Ashram which was followed by Abhisheikh of Lord Krishna and Radha by Swami Kumar Ji and the devotees. Bhajan Kirtan was also held in the Ashram.
Taking out of Shoba Yatra and holding religious congregations marked the celebrations of Janamashtami in Kishtwar today. The Shoba Yatra passed in the town in which a large number of people took part. The Shoba Yatra was organized by Sanatan Dharam Sabha (SDS). It started from Gori Shanker, Mandir, Sirkot and after covering about tow km distance it culminated at Raghunath Mandir Kishtwar. This was followed by bhajan Kirtan and pooja in various temples.
On the occasion of Janamashtami a Prabhat Pheri was taken out in Reasi early in the morning by Sanatan Dharam Sabha which was followed by Shoba Yatra in the evening. It started from Chowk Chabutra and culminated at Nai Basti Mandir ground. The devotees were singing bhajan Kirtan enroute.
Impressive Shoba Yatra was taken out ion Poonch in which a large number of devotees took part. The Shoba Yatra started from Geeta Bhawan and after passing via Khakha Navan Mandir Dungas temple and main Bazar it culminated at Geeta Bhawan. Forty Jhankis depicting different aspects of Lord Krishna and Radha’s life which had come from adjoining villages participated in the Shoba yatra.
The programme was also attended by Brig. Commander N S Brar, DC Poonch N A Wani and SSP J S Jowhar. It was organized by SDS Poonch and the activists of various Hindu organizations BD and VHP also participated in it.
Impressive Shoba Yatra was taken out in Rajouri town also today by the members of Hindu community on the occasion of Janamashtami.
On the occasion of Janamashtami an impressive Shoba Yatra was taken out in Mendhar which started from Hanuman Mandir . After passing through various markets it culminated at Hanuman Mandir later. The Beopar Mandal Mendhar and other organizations had installed stalls enroute. Besides, the members of Hindu community, the members of Muslim and Sikh communities also participated in the Shoba Yatra.
In Vijaypur as per tradition Matki Fodna (breaking of clay pot) ceremony was held on the occasion of Janamashtami today. The participants shared the prize money of 5100.
Janamashtami was also celebrated by residents of Kamdhenu Homz today.
The JanamAshtami was also celebrated in Akhnoor, Udhampur, Kathua, Doda, Bhadarwah, Ramban, R S Pura, Ram Nagar, Samba, Hiranagar, Basohli, Billawar, Bani, Kalakote, Nowshera and Sunderbani with religious fervour and gaiety.
