MENDHAR, Sept 4: A headmaster of Govt High School in Balakote area of Poonch has been placed under suspension for committing irregularities.
Official sources said that on the basis of complains from the locals of the area that children are not getting scholarships for the last over two years and some funds were withdrawn for the development of the school but no work has been initiated. Upon this, CEO Poonch directed Principal GHSS Harni Subash Sharma and Principal HSS Gursai Mohri Mohd Sadiq Chouhan to conduct inquiry.
They found that allegations were true and Rs 1.09 lakh was withdrawn for construction of bath room but only minor repair was conducted for old existing bath room. Rs 75,000 withdrawn for repairs were also misused. Irregularities worth over Rs 4.5 lakh were detected.
Upon this, the CEO suspended Headmaster Mohd Asgar Khan and attached with DyCEO office at Mendhar.
The CEO also directed the ZEO to get an FIR registered against the Headmaster.
