JAMMU, Sept 3: Various educational institutions celebrated Janamashtmi festival with religious fervour and gaiety.
GD Goenka Public School organized a cultural programme to celebrate the upcoming “Janamashtmi” festival. The students of class I and II through speeches, poems, enactment, songs and dance performances threw light on the life of Lord Krishna. A live melodious Casio performance and “Matki Phod” by Govinda was the main attraction of the show. Principal, Dr RP Singh, Co-ordinators Shipra Bali and Nishita Sharma, Art teachers Vishakha Khajuria and Kashma Gupta were also present.
Janamashtmi festival was celebrated at Delhi Public School, Udhampur with gaiety. The chief guest on the occasion was Dr JC Gupta, Chairman LMC. Students presented cultural items. Principal, Vice-Principal and staff were also present on the occasion.
Janamashtmi festival was celebrated in SOS Hermann Gmeiner School. On the occasion, students attired in colorful costumes performed different activities, followed by speeches, matka designing and colouring of mukut. Principal RK Dhar was also present. The programme was co-ordinated by Sangeeta Dhar and Sangita Mattoo.
JK Little Millennium International School celebrated Janamashtmi festival. Students dressed as Lord Krishna and Goddess Radha participated in fancy dress contest. The first position was claimed by Rudra Shangloo, Dikshita Koul and Divitya Radha, whereas Madhvan Bassasi, Hunar Kour, Praful Lochan and Abhinandati Abrol got second prize. The third prize was shared by Shivein Khajuria, Hargun Kour, Aashraya Gupta and Yamini Sharma. Students also participated in various activities. Managing Director of the school Sanjeev, Director Academics Rajni Gupta, Vice Principal Geeta Dixit and Coordinator Vandana Gupta were also present on the occasion.
Navyug Play Way School celebrated Janamashtmi festival. Various cultural programmes including fancy dress competition, dance items, short skits were presented by the students. Managing Director of the school Hardev Singh Jamwal and Principal Preetika Jamwal threw light on the importance of the festival.
KC Kids Play School, Udhampur celebrated Janamashtmi festival in ISKCON Temple. The students learned many songs of Lord Krishna. The priests of the temple told beautiful stories to the kids about the life of Lord Krishna. The students danced with the priests and the kids of the temple.
