JAMMU, Sept 3: A 44-year-old man was today found hanging at his residence in Nai Basti area of city outskirts.
According to a police spokesperson, the man identified as Kewal Krishan son of Dassi Ram, a resident of Nai Basti area falling under the jurisdiction of police station Gandhi Nagar, was found hanging this morning at his residence by the family members, who immediately rushed him in unconscious condition to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where doctors declared him as brought dead.
After conducting postmortem, the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites. However, the reason behind this extreme step taken by the man could not be ascertained immediately.
In this connection, a case under relevant Sections has been registered at police station Gandhi Nagar and further investigation started.
