DGP reviews functioning of Police Public Schools

SRINAGAR, Sept 3: In order to bring innovative changes in the working of Police Public Schools, a meeting of Board of Administrators was held at Police Headquarters (PHQ) here today.
Director General of Police (DGP), K Rajendra Kumar chaired the meeting which was attended by Additional Director General of Police (Headquarters), S. P. Vaid and other members of the Board.
Mr. Rajendra, dwelling on the initiatives taken in the recent years with regard to up-gradation of Police Public Schools, gave an overall view of the achievements registered on this account, hoping that the progress would be implemented with a missionary zeal at all the levels.
DGP said that all required facilities including library, computers, education aids and sports kits would be provided to make these schools to compete with other renowned schools. He asked the school administration to maintain liaison with the parents of students and convene occasional meetings with them to get feedback and improve their working. He stressed upon the management to complete the works and fulfill the requirements of the schools within a time frame so that they do not suffer for want of these facilities. Infrastructure of PP Schools at twin capital cities has been enhanced, providing hostel and other facilities for the students, he added.
Mr. Rajendra highlighted the need to bring innovative changes in the working of Police Public Schools and improve their efficiency so that the pass outs could excel in the professional examinations. He said that the rules regulating the institutions need to be looked into to make more fruitful bringing desired results. He also asked the managements to review their working and bring required changes.
Chairman Board of Administrators, S. P. Vaid and other members gave their suggestions to improve efficiency of the institutions. ADGP (Armed), S. M.  Sahai suggested various steps with regard to improve the educational standards of the schools.
The meeting was attended by IGPs, AK Choudhary, HK Lohia, SJM Gillani, AG Mir, MS Salaria, MA Khan, Jagjit Kumar, MA Ganai and JP Singh, DIG, Viplav Kumar and AIG (Welfare) Rajeshwar Singh.
