DODA, Sept 3: A contractor hailing from Seri area of Bhaderwah, was killed, when the Swift car he was driving, skidded off the road and plunged into gorge near Raggi Nallah on Doda-Batote Highway.
The ill-fated vehicle without registration number was on its way to Doda from Bhaderwah, when the driver lost control over the steering and the vehicle landed into deep gorge near Raggi Nallah, resulting into on the spot death of the driver.
After getting information, police rushed to the spot, retrieved the body and shifted it to hospital, from where it was handed over to family members for last rites.
The deceased has been identified as Anjal Kotwal (35), son of Lekh Raj, a resident of village Lower Browha, Seri, Bhaderwah.
The deceased was a contractor by profession. He was honest man and popular among the people for his polite behaviour.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at concerned police station and investigation started.
