UDHAMPUR, Sept 2: A one day orientation workshop for students, unemployed youth and District/Block level officers was organised by District Administration Udhampur for wider outreach and participation in UDAAN placement drive in district and educating about skill development initiatives.
District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary was the chief guest on the occasion.While speaking on the occasion, he said that the orientation workshop aimed at disseminating information regarding Project Udaan among the stakeholders for better execution of the project and increase the number of placements in District Udhampur in addition to orient the District Officers regarding the whole scheme so that the pragmatic results will be achieved under the prestigious project.
He called upon the educated unemployed youths of the district to avail maximum benefits by participating and grabbing this golden opportunity of special recruitment drive launched under Udaan scheme at Government Degree College Boys Udhampur from September 10 and 11.
DDC also directed the concerned officers for making extra ordinary efforts to mobilize maximum youths for participation in the placement drive so as to enhance the employability of educated unemployed youth in the district. He also called upon the students and block level officers to spread the message of UDAAN for maximum participation of unemployed graduate, post graduate and three year diploma/degree holder youths in the placement drive. He also informed that a mock test would also be organised on September 7 to build the confidence among the youth for the placement.
During the workshop, representatives of National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and various cooperate companies delivered lectures and acquainted the participants about the opportunities, requirements and other issues of cooperate world involved during the placement.
It was disclosed that in the placement drive 10-20 corporate companies will be visiting GDC Udhampur (Boys) campus under Udaan scheme on days of placement drive for placement of unemployed local youths. It was also informed that the opportunities are open for graduates, Post graduates, professional degree holders and diploma holders engineers between 18-35 years of age.
Prof. Sudhir Singh from Govt. Degree College Udhampur conducted the proceedings of the programme.
