RAJOURI, Sept 2: The students of Govt Degree College stopped the cavalcade of PDP president and sitting MP Mehbooba Mufti at Thannamandi town when she was returning from Shahdara Sharief shrine today.
Reports said despite presence of police force, the students already waiting at the road side near the college suddenly came out in front of PDP leader’s cavalcade and started protest. Ms Mehbooba then came out of her car and moved forward to listen to the grievances of the college students. The students told her that out of 23 sanctioned posts at Degree College Thannamandi 19 are lying vacant thus affecting their studies badly. They demanded that lecturers be posted in the college at the earliest. She gave assurance to the agitating students that she would take up the matter with education Minister Naeem Akhtar. The students then cleared the road.
