NEW DELHI, Aug 31: Tracking a weak trend overseas, silver prices fell Rs 103 to Rs 35,761 per kg in futures trade today as speculators engaged in off-loading positions.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in far-month December contracts lost Rs 103, or 0.29 per cent, to Rs 35,761 per kg, with a turnover of 119 lots.
Also, the white metal for delivery in September was trading at Rs 94, or 0.27 per cent down at Rs 34,284 per kg in business turnover of 267 lots.
Marketmen said a weak trend in global markets as investors weighed comments from Federal Reserve officials reflecting on a potential interest rate increase in the US, mainly kept pressure on silver futures here.
Globally, silver dropped 0.3 per cent to USD 14.55 an ounce in Singapore today. (PTI)
