UDHAMPUR, July 27: One person died after a truck slipped into deep gorge at Dharamthal in Chenani while in a separate road accident at Pul Mada, 14 passengers were injured when a Tempo Traveler plunged into deep nallah.
The Tempo Traveler, bearing registration number JK14A -9726, was on its way from Doda to Jammu when its driver lost control over the vehicle, which subsequently fell into deep gorge near Pul Mada, this evening.
Locals and police immediately started rescue operation and evacuated all the injured to the CHC Chenani. Two of the injured, namely Sudesha Devi (45) and Gurbinder Singh (18) of Ban Talab Jammu, were shifted to GMC Hospital Jammu.
Other injured were identified as Wasim (20), Abdul Gani (49), Gulam Hussain (55), Mohd Rafiq (27), Mohd Hafiz (32), Azaz Ahmed, Anfusa (22) and Arnisha (4). (All are resident of Doda); Mohd Ayub (19) of Kishtwar, Pooja (23), Sanjogta Koul (28) and Surinder Koul (32), resident of Jagti Nagrota, Jammu.
In other road mishap, which took place at Dharamthal area of Chenani tehsil, a truck plunged into a deep gorge with the result that one person died one the spot and other one was injured.
The injured was identified as Sampooran Singh while identity of the deceased was established as Balbir Singh, son of Tirth Ram of New Plot Jammu.
