Inter-state narco smuggler held with poppy straw

JAMMU, July 25: Bus-Stand police arrested inter-state narcotic smuggler along with 7 kilograms of poppy straw.
As per police sources, on specific inputs, police team from Bus-Stand police station intercepted a man, when he de-boarded a bus from Kashmir.
During checking, police recovered 7 kilograms of poppy straw concealed in two bags and arrested the inter-state narcotic smuggler on the spot.
The accused has been identified as Sohan Lal, son of Banarsi Dass of Khatikalan, Tehsil Banga, District Nowshera, Punjab.
The accused had brought the consignment from Kashmir and was about to take it to Punjab for sale among the youth, but was nabbed by Bus-Stand police.
A case under FIR Number 32/15 under Section 8/15 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered against him at Bus-Stand police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Bus-Stand police station Inspector Paramjit Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO City Perbeet Singh Parihar, SP City Shiv Kumar Singh Chohan and Incharge SSP Jammu Rajiv Pandey.
