JAMMU, July 16: AIIMS Coordination Committee (ACC) claimed that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi will not alienate his vast Jammu constituency and make an announcement that people of Jammu region will not only get AIIMS but also an equal share in the governance of the State.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi can’t alienate his very vast constituency in Jammu region. He is fully aware of the nature of the problem the people of Jammu region have been facing since 1947 at the hands of the Delhi-backed anti-Jammu authorities in Kashmir. He has worked in the State for years and he feels the pulse of people of Jammu region. He would surely make an announcement committing an AIIMS for Jammu and equal share to the discriminated against people of Jammu region in the governance of the State”, said ACC Chairman and president of JKHCBA, Jammu, Abhinav Sharma while addressing a meeting of leading civil society members here today.
The meeting was organized by S Peter, president, J&K Christian Dalit Society (CDS).
In his address, Abhinav Sharma said that the people of Jammu region are not demanding moon and added that they are only urging the authorities to set up AIIMS in Jammu as promised by Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on February 28.
Chairman of the ACC expressed hope that PM would not disappoint the people of Jammu region, who hold him in high esteem and consider him as their leader and saviour. He said the people of Jammu region are looking forward to the Modi’s visit to Jammu and hoping that he will do the needful to strengthen his constituency in Jammu region.
