JAMMU, June 28: Rashtar Bhasha Prachar Samiti organized a book release function here at K L Saigal Hall, today.
The book entitled “Wahge Aahli Lakeer”, collection of memoirs written by Prof S S Chhenna and translated in Dogri by Yash Paul Nirmal and Popinder Singh was released in an impressive function, which was presided over by the eminent Hindi writer Prof Raj Kumar, while Additional Secretary Jammu Kashmir Academy of Art Culture and Languages, Dr Arvinder Singh Amn was the chief guest.
Neeru Sharma, president, Rashtar Bhasha Prachar Samiti, welcomed the dignitaries and all the guests. She appreciated the Nidhi publications for publishing Dogri Books. She also expressed sorrow and human emotions depicted in these memoirs.
Chief guest Dr Arvinder Singh Amn congratulated Yashpaul Nirmal and Popinder Singh for the release of Book and also appreciated the contribution of Yashpaul Nirmal towards the Dogri Language and literature. He also talked about the Memoirs compiled in the Book “Wahge Aahli Lakeer”.
Prof Raj Kumar in his address congratulated RBPS, Yashpaul Nirmal and Popinder Singh Paras for the release of book and also threw light on the importance of translation in the present scenario.
Chandu Bhau eminent Dogri writer presented a detailed paper on the book “Wahge Aahli Lakeer” which was highly appreciated by the audience.
Three short stories were also presented in this programme by Dr Adarsh Prakash, Dr Baljeet Raina and Dr Sunita Bhadwal.
The eminent persons present in the programme were Dr Nirmal Vinod, Susheel Begana, Dr Vijay Seth, Santosh Sangra, Shaam Talib, K K Shakir, Kewal Kumar Kewal, Sanjeev Bhasin, Abhay Singh, Neelam Sareen, Rajnish Gupta, Devender Singh Vishavnagrik, Dr Monojit, Arvind and Hardeep Singh.
The programme was conducted by Prof Bharat Bhushan and he also presented the vote of thanks.
