UDHAMPUR, June 22: Udhampur Police today seized 2 kg Poppy straw from a truck near Jakheni and arrested the accused driver.
Reports said that acting on an information, Police intercepted the truck bearing registration number JK02AE-4204, which was on way from Kashmir to Jammu. During thorough search of the truck, 2 kg of Poppy Straw (Bhuki) was recovered.
The accused driver namely Prdeep Kumar of village Brnoti, Kathua was arrested on the spot and vehicle was seized.
In this connection, a case under Section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Udhampur.
