JAMMU, Aug 14 : Minister for Medical Education, Technical Education, Youth Services and Sports, R S Chib today inspected various developmental works being executed by Public Works and Rural Development Departments besides other agencies in border areas of tehsil R S Pura.
The Minister expressed satisfaction over the execution of these development works. However, he directed the concerned officers to further accelerate the speed on these projects of vital public importance to ensure their timely completion.
“Creation of infrastructure, implementation of welfare schemes and up-gradation of health are gaining momentum in rural and border areas with pro-active approach of Panchayat Raj Institutions (PRIs) and common masses”, the Minister maintained. He said that development of border areas is being given focused attention for enhanced development, as per the commitment of present Government.
He said that the Coalition Government under the stewardship of Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah is completely aware of the problems and development needs of people especially those living in far-off and border areas like Suchetgarh and is committed to address the genuine demands and grievances of the people.
At various places, the Minister interacted with the farmers who informed him about their problems which they are facing due to inadequate power supply. They demanded reduction in total period of power curtailment.
The Minister appealed the people to come forward and benefit from ambitious centrally sponsored MGNREGA which is meant for empowering them socially and economically.
Responding to people’s demands, the Minister instructed the Chief Engineer, R&B Jammu division, to speed up the progress on 4-laning of Miran Sahib to Kullian road for its completion at the earliest.
