JAMMU, June 4: Taking initiative to promote Dogri culture and language, MLA Jammu East, Rajesh Gupta has joined hands with Regional Film Director and Producer, Neelam Kumar to organize shows of Dogri Film “Kuggi Maar Duari” in schools of Jammu.
Neelam Kumar is Senior Fellowship Awardee for folk and culture by Ministry of Culture, Government of India. He is the producer and director of Dogri film ‘Kuggi Maar Duwari’, which was released in December 2011.
Since its release, the film played an important role in promoting Dogri culture and language. Taking this initiative of Neelam Kumar forward, MLA Jammu East, Rajesh Gupta has started organizing shows of ‘Kuggi Maar Duwari’ in schools of Jammu for entertainment of students besides spreading awareness regarding Dogri language and culture among them.
The first show of this series was organized on last Thursday at Girls Higher Secondary School, Mubarak Mandi; second show on Saturday at Ranbir Higher Secondary School, Parade and the third show today at Girls Higher Secondary School, Bazaar Qasaban (Gujjar Nagar) while more shows will be organized in the coming days at reputed schools of Jammu.
