HYDERABAD, May 29: Senior Congress leader and leader of the opposition in Rajya sabha Gulab Nabi Azad today said that there was no clarity on the issue of black money in the country.
Speaking at a function in Gandhi Bhavan, the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee head quarters,here, where Ms.N.Sarada took over as the Mahila Congress chief, Mr Azad claimed that there were no worthwhile achievements during the one-year rule of Prime minister Narender Modi’s government.
Mr Azad said that the Congress alone gave due share and representation to women in all posts and cited that the party nominee for the Telangana Legislative Council poll Akula Lalita on election will be the only woman member of the Council.
Senior party leader and former union minister Vayalar Ravi, Ramachander Kuntia and top state party leaders were present on the occasion.
Meanwhile, party sources said that both Mr Azad and Mr Ravi were deputed by Congress President Sonia Gandhi, apparently to ensure the victory of Ms.Lalita in the June one Council poll from the Assembly constituency.
On arrival yesterday, the Congress leaders held a one-on-one meeting with the party legislators at a star hotel in the posh Banjara Hills area of the city. The Congress with its 18 MLAs can easily win the lone seat it is contesting. (UNI)
