JAMMU, May 28: Drugs and Food Control Organization served notice for filing challan and upgradation of the existing infrastructure to a soda factory at Hazuri Bagh.
As per official spokesman, a team of the Food Safety officers namely Rakesh Gupta, Ajay Khajuria and Dalip Singh under the supervision of Sanjeev Kumar, Asstt Controller Food (JMC) carried out inspections of M/s Sharma Soda Factory Hazuri Bagh, Talab Tillo and M/s Modern Hotels Private Limited, BC Road.
He added that no manufacturing activity was in progress in the said soda factory, but it was observed that the said unit has not maintained proper sanitary and hygienic condition in the premises.
Accordingly notice for filing challan under the provision of the FSS Act was served to the authorized person of the unit, besides an improvement notice was also served with the direction to upgrade the existing infrastructure within time frame, he stated.
He further stated that the condition of the Kitchen of M/s Modern Hotels Private Limited, BC Road was found far from satisfactory levels.
The authorized person of the unit was directed to carry out necessary upgradation and report compliance in due course of time. Sauce containing added colour was destroyed on spot, he added.
