Jammu, May 4: National Society for HRD and Research, IGNOU Study Center, organized one day awareness camp for the rural youth at village Taraf Bala, Nagri-Kathua.
The main focus of the camp was to apprise the rural youth about the various schemes launched by IGNOU in the field of higher education and other related programmes for the benefit of dropouts, employees, and other categories of the people who are otherwise unable to pursue their education through formal system.
Chairman of the Society, Dr Hari Dutt Shishu, while delivering his lecture, called upon the youth to unite and fix a higher target in life and work with full enthusiasm and drive maximum benefits of the IGNOU which is providing services at the doorstep. He also warned the rural youth to be aware of the menace of drugs addiction which is a slow poison and eating the vital of the society. He assured the youth of all sort of counseling including moral and career as well.
The elected representatives of the Panchayats Airwan, Barmori and Kokhyal also participated in the programme. The youth expressed their happiness to participate in the programme and assured to be the part of IGNOU and NSHRDR as well, to carry forward the objectives for which it is working.
Jiwan Lal-Social Activist, expressed his gratitude towards the study center for such a remarkable activity in a remote area which will be proved very much beneficial for the rural youth.
Varinder Kumar coordinated the programme and Mohan Lal presented the vote of thanks. Prominent amongst those present in the programme included Vikram Singh, Pawan Sharma-Numberdar , Balbinder, Kiran, Bindu, Sunil and Romesh.
