KATHUA, May 1: Provincial Electric Employees Union (PEEU) with its constituent heads of Kathua, Samba, Hiranagar, Ramkot and Bari-Brahmana, had a meeting with SE, Circle Kathua, Sanjeev Rathore, in his office chamber, along with all three X-Ens.
The meeting was organized under the leadership of PC Sharma, provincial president, Electric Employees Union, Jammu and chaired by SE Circle, Kathua.
The meeting was conducted in two phases. In first phase, the employees’ welfare scheme was discussed by the concerned committee, which approved 10 cases of the agenda and awarded Rs 10,000 each to the beneficiary namely deceased Omkar Chand, Mohinder Kumar, Glabu Ram, Ashok Kumar, Krishan Lal, Surinder Singh, Rajeev Kumar, Thodu Ram, Kartar Chand and Sushil Kumar while deferred two cases due to their non-eligibility.
Thereafter, the union presented its 16-point agenda and demands of the PDD employees before the SE and discussed them threadbare.
The meeting of the employees include convening of DPC meeting at Circle and Province level, release of benefits of SRO 59 of 1990, renovation of linemen huts and their vacation from encroachment, making inspection procedure consolidated to stop pilferage, special training courses for SBA and Linemen, provision of safety tools to the staff working on lines or receiving stations, opening of new EM&RE Division Kathua with its headquarters at Basohli, making available requisite staff in the newly inaugurated receiving stations to reduce burden, provision of telephone facility at all receiving stations, renovation and repair of all receiving stations and provision of lights in yards and residential quarters in the receiving stations.
SE circle Kathua gave patient hearing and assured the union that the issues pertaining to their circle shall be resolved within a time frame while the other issues will be taken up with higher authorities.
