JAMMU, Apr 8: A deputation of J&K United School Teachers Association (USTA) met Commissioner/ Secretary School Education, Shaleen Kabra, in his office chamber here at Civil Secretariat under the leadership of USTA president, Hari Singh, and demanded high level inquiry in transfers and postings made in education department in last two years.
USTA put forth the charter of demands which included early release of long pending salary of teachers under various schemes, early transfers of those who have completed their tenure in far flung areas by adopting transparent transfer norms, adjustment of promoted masters and lecturers, senior teacher grade in favour of under-graduate teachers, early clearance of ReT regularization files and early free distribution of books.
Other demands of the association were removal of pay anomalies in respect of teachers and masters, DPC of all cadres including fourth class after every six months, release of annual academic calendar, debar teachers from non-academic duties, fill vacant posts in schools, enhance salary of ReT teachers from Rs 3000 to 15000, clearance of pendency under mid day meal, leave encashment at retirement to teachers, regularization of all cadres and mufiasil/dislocation allowance to teachers.
The Commissioner Secretary gave patient hearing and assured early redressal of most of the problems being faced by teaching community.
The deputation comprised of Rajeev Kumar, Pardeep Singh, Shanti Saroop, Kishori Lal, Roop Chand, Ashok Kumar and others.
