16 injured in road mishap

KATHUA, Apr 4: 16 people were injured after a matador bearing number JK08 b-9215 turned turtle on road at Sherpur border village this evening.
As per police 10 out of 16 injured were shifted to GMC Jammu under serious conditions for treatment while six were admitted in SDH Hiranagar.
Police said the matador was on its way from Koota to Sherpur Londi in border area. The eye witness said that the matador was in high speed and the driver lost control on steering with the result it turned turtle injuring 16 passengers. The driver who was identified as Surinder however managed to flee from the spot leaving passengers in pool of blood. They were rescued by local people who also called the police.
The Hiranagar Police has registered a case under relevant sections of the law and started a manhunt for driver.
