JAMMU, Mar 21: Minister for Health and Medical Education, ARI and Trainings Ch Lal Singh has directed all the medicos and paramedicos to remain present in the health institutions as per duty roasters, adding that absence during duty hours would be viewed seriously.
This was stated by the Minister while interacting with the doctors and paramedical staff during his inspection tour of health institutions at Sher Kotla and Barwal areas of Kathua district, here today.
MLA Kathua Rajeev Jasrotia, Chief Medical Officer and Block Medical Officers besides Sarpanchs and Panchs of the area accompanied the Minister.
The Minister directed the concerned officers to pay regular visits to health institutions in their respective jurisdictions and personally monitor the stock of medicines and facilities being provided to the ailing people. He also directed for examining the rates of admissions and treatment being provided by private clinics and submit the report within a week time.
The Minister stressed upon the medical fraternity to work with dedication and devotion for the welfare of the patients. He said that focus is being laid to strengthen the existing health institutions, particularly in far-flung areas to ensure best possible medicare to the people.
Responding to the demand of locals for opening of dispensary at Sher Kotla, the Minister assured that needful would be done in this regard. Regarding dearth of medicos and paramedics in the various health institutions of the district, the Minister said that directions have been issued to post the doctors and paramedics from those institutions where excess staff is posted so that the people of the far-flung and remote areas of the district do not face any inconvenience. He informed that all the PHCs, CHCs, Sub-Centres and dispensaries will be upgraded with adequate staff and latest technology equipments.
The Minister also said that Government is committed to provide better and improved healthcare delivery services to the people of the State. The Minister also directed the concerned officers to prepare an inventory of the medical and paramedical staff who are residing in the Government accommodation and submit the report immediately.
Earlier, the Minister also paid obeisance at Shri Chintpurni Mata temple in Barwal and Shri Chandika Mata Temple at Sher Kotla and prayed for peace and prosperity of the State.
